  • Trying to find my place here..

    Hello
I am back to Atkins from having been on it over a year ago. Anyways, it would be nice to find a 'support' thread here, as in a day-to-day check in to help each other along. I'm not sure where to go however. I've read in a few parts of the board, and it seems a bit 'clicky'...I do not know where to fit in. I feel like the new kid in school.

    Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Jump into the STAC forum ( second time around club) the key to fitting in is to jump in feet first and just start posting ........... You have tp take into account that especially this time of year everyone is busy. But if you dive in and start posting everyday and sharing things you need to share your participation will be welcome by everyone! Everyone here is extremely supportive but alot of what you take from here also depends on you!

You've made the most important steps and that is deciding this lifestyle is what you need and this place is where you will find your support! Good for you and best wishes!!!!!!

      Hey Back2Back,

Like the poster above me said, just jump right in. Definitely check out the "Second Time Around Club." They have a daily roll call thread where everyone checks in at. Just start posting in it and you'll feel the love.

If you have 100 or more pounds to lose there is also the "Century Club." We have a daily roll call too. Come check in with us.

If you want a place to keep track of all your thoughts along the way, consider starting a journal in the "journal chats." You will find tons of support and encouragement there.

Have fun and I hope to see you around the board. Happy Losing!

Welcome aboard! I've been here for over a year, and don't find the board 'clicky' at all. We just find people quickly in which we have so much in common and it might seem to new members that we have known each other for years. I know that many here feel like family to me. You are more than welcome to join the 'Derby Girls' on our thread in the STAC forum! We love having new members join us. We truly care about each other and became fast friends a few months ago when the thread was started by Cat. This whole board is filled with wonderful people, so just jump right in, join in on a thread, join a challenge, start a journal, post a lot and you will see how you will be warmly welcomed and accepted! You have to be the one to jump in and give it a try. You reach out your hand and I promise, many people will grab it. Just go ahead and try it, I promise you'll like it!

        Sunny!

I agree completely with what has been said previous. I am new here too and the board can seem like a big scary place and it can seem like everyone knows everyone but you. Let me tell you these are some of the NICEST people I have ever come across on a board. When you feel like giving up they wont let you. Trust me someone will throw a challenge your way or come and grab you up to join their group (STAC or Century Club). And also they will make you accountable, its easy to cheat yourself and talk yourself into a "this one time wont hurt" attitude but it will and its harder to cheat when you have others who want you to succeed as well. And if you should stumble they will be right there to help you pick yourself up and continue on. Hope to see you around and good luck to you.
