  • I need some major help....

    Alright,

i'm 20 years old and i'm 5'1" when i started atkins i was 135.... i have been on atkins for 4 months... i lost 10 pounds(that's it).... and now i'm down to 125... i have been at 125 for a month now... so i went back on induction about 2 weeks ago...

question is...DID I LOSE WEIGHT???..... NO!!! i'm still at 125... well i can't say that i didn't lose weight because i did get down to 122 and then towards the end of my two weeks i was back at 125... i don't really know what's going on... it's crazy...

the only thing that i eat that is not on the acceptable food list is mustard... i just don't understand what to do at this point... my goal weight is 110 so that's like 15 pounds.. so i really don't have that much to lose... i just need so serious help :help i see all you people on here with success stories and i see you guys lose soo soo much weight and it's crazy.... i'm still going to remain on induction till i lose the last 15 pounds...

is there something i can do to help me.... well i didn't want to talk about this but i'm going to... i started taking flaxseed meal because i wasn't using the restroom like i should... i just don't know how much to take... i did read some forums that said to take 1 tbs a day to start out with and that wasn't enough... because i haven't went yet(sorry i know it's gross) but it might be a problem...

and another thing.... i'm on birth control pills... you think that might be a stall as well?? what if i can't lose any weight at all because of them?? you think that possible???

oh yeah... i also drink up to 70 oz of water... so i think i'm good in the area... i know i could drink more though...

plus i exercise 5 days a week i do elliptical for 40 minutes a day which is like 2.5 miles... then i do pilates for dummies in the morning..

sorry i have so many questions and comments but i'm writing to tell you guys everything that i'm doing... to see if you guys might have a solution....

i eat like i should... like the things that are on the acceptable food list... for real... like i loooooooooooooove veggies.... and i have a question.... is all meat and spices(without sugar) have zero carbs... and could i be eating too much meat? what have you guys learned not to eat much of in induction??? maybe i should cut back on my cheese intake... i don't know how much 1 oz looks like... so i have been going by what i think is the right amount....

alright i'm sorry for all this but thanks for all your help....

Star, sorry I didn't see this, sometimes we get so many posts in one day they slip to the bottom fast. Did you get an answer to your question.
There are so many reasons that you may not be losing and for females, one of the big ones is TOM.

okay I have to ask have you been measuring yourself to see if you are losing inches? Stalls are no weight NOR inchs for 4 weeks.

Now the first thing you need to do is move those bowels if you really haven't moved them in that long. Bowels can hold lots of pounds yep pounds of wet fiber and waste from food. You need to get moving. SO you can add more flax is 1T isn't helping you need to drink more water cause the longer the stuff stays in there the more water your body can pull out of it making it harder and elimination more difficult. Dr Atkins metioned you shouldn't be going more then a few days with out moving. you can use one of those natural plant laxatives containing senna on your Atkins too when you need to.

        Now back to your Atkins
Yes meat can have carbs in it the spices have carbs in them and many deli meats have carbs. processed poultry or pork are injected with a moist and tender solution of water sugar and salt which adds carbs too.

it is normal when you up your exercise not to see scale weight movements in the direction you want either. have your body fat checked to see if you are morphing makeing more muscle tissue while you lose body fat.

Hang in there Atkins doesn't stop working and once you tweak your program if it needs a fix or fix those bowels you should be moving again.

        Happy low carbing.

This is the diet for you but you are just one of those unfortunates that needs to
          1) journal every thing you eat cause there may be something that is holding back your weight loss
          2) add more water, sorry, but this really works.
          3) relax. This is the hardest one, but I have read that stress really holds on to the fat, expecially around the waist fat
          4) kick up your exercise a tad
But really I think the journaling will be the best.
