  • Hello Everyone! Ketone Here!

Hi everyone! I am so happy to find a new forum for Atkins. This place looks exactly like what I have wanted in a low carb forum so far in format. I hope to make and help new friends!

I am a WAHM (work at home Mom). I have been married to my Husband for 8 years this past fall.

I read the first Atkins Revolution book cover to cover in 2004. My body is pretty responsive to the process. Now, sticking to it is another story. I personally think the more forgiving you are to a "cheat" the better. I love ketone testing strips to encourage me personally.

I wish you all your best on the quest!

          1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.

Welcome, I am just now in ketosis TODAY...so the strip says. I like the strips too. I am new and have already fell off the wagon once , so I have to committ to get on this forum everyday and keep trudging forward and get through the induction stage and make this my new WOE....for the long haul.

Yesterday, I went to lunch with some co-workers and ironicly 2 other people at the table were on low-carb diets...one was on atkins and one was on sugar-busters.
I told them about this place and how many success stories were on here.

I really really need this to work. It's my last option. I have done everything from diet pills to voice tapes, to gym, to crazy expensive diet plans. Nothing works....so I hope my body responds.

There is a wealth of knowledge and support here. I try to visit a new topic everytime I drop in.

I know falling off the wagon of Atkins is so easy with all the tempting foods during this time of year. Well, actually ALL YEAR .

I love the strips because without them I am at a guess if my body is "spilling ketones" as I say.

              Guys!
              I added the photos!

The bottom one I am heavier than the two piece photo.
I had gained 18 lbs or so after major stresses in my life this past summer. I ate almost my WHOLE carvel birthday cake! big 3-0. anyhow... sick of saying I am going to be that way... (thin). Sticking hardcore (thus far).

The kick in the pants was my daughter seeing me try on that dress (see photo) and telling me I would look better skinny in it. Then many people that night hinting I was expecting. I bloat... and have lots of excess skin sag (hidden under those shorts at 137!)

have a great sunday thanks again for all the welcomes!

Really? Skin sag? If you could only hear my long sigh. That is like the biggest thing I am dreading. I am 33 so I guess the comments I heard about it tightening back up in your thirties is not all valid? Did you lose super fast? ugh...

Thankyou for the compliment, boy let me tell you I had a snug fit with that dress! I tore a strap getting it on in a hurry LOL. Thank goodness for empire waist dresses!

Yes, will be trying this new year challenge. I hope I stick with it and am able to update lots! best of luck to you as well.

I had lost weight superfast on my very first induction. But, not enough to cause the "purse".

I think for myself the excess skin is from having given birth to four kids. I did not watch my diet for the life of me with any pregnancy, most of all my first one! I had bounced back pretty well with my first two (belly wise). But, my two younger boys just 20 months apart tore this poor belly apart!

I wish I could find some disposable income to get a body lift, tummy tuck. Not to be graphic, but they really need to get in there and sew torn muscle tissue, not pretty sight. I fear going under more than the operations. I should fear the BILLS LOL!!!!

                    take care

Yeah, I know ALL about the 'purse'.
I have two boys 12 and 6 and I really want one more but fear that at my current weight I will have a miserable pregancy. Had two c-sections, so the third will be the same and I have so much nerve and muscle damage at the incision scar and no amount of sit-ups will fix the hang. I wish a tummy tuck would come as a standard procedure proceeding a c-section - LOL - SHOOT! You got me cut open...so take some fat while you are at it right!!>>??

I have been reading about "dry brushing".
I am seriously going to try this...

I do wish if I had a c-section they would of done a little work on me too. I did all V births. No, I could do 1000 sit ups a day and the sag would be there.

But, the muscle tone under would be improved I imagine. Which would require less lypo when and if I would get a tummy tuck. I personally think I would need a body lift. Ah, well the kids were worth it. I just wish I took better care of myself when pregnant and prevented most of it.

click on my journal if you like. work in progress! I am curious about your link there! will check it out.
