    Glad I found this forum, the first day I did my kids sat with me and we looked at all the before after pics we could find. They kept saying DADDY you GOTTA do this DIET ! But I explained to them its a life style that I need to start hehe .. easier said than done.

    I am on my 3rd day of induction, day 1 and 2 were super dizzy days I was soo dizzy and/or sleepy all day and I had a cup of coffee with cinnamin and splenda because the withdrawls were bad however it was just 1 normal cup versus the 3-4 Venti Triple shot Lattes I normally have on a daily basis !

    Today was kind of cool, no dizzies and actually was not very hungry all day long, I had to kind of remember to eat a boiled egg or some tuna here and there otherwise it was kind of cool.

    I"ve lost weight on this diet before went from 270 to 195 but then stopped and did a complete 180 in the wrong direction. I got addicted to video gaming, and ordering pizzas, drinking lots and lots of beer and soda and well after 3.5 years of that .. here I am agin 280 lbs and hating it. I'm only 5 foot 7 so my BMI is astronimical and with a near 50 inch waist

    Today I am 280 and that is down from 310 in September, I've lost some weight by just stopping diet sodas and sweets ( I freaking love sweets ! )

    Pre-Diabetes symptoms started showing up when I was 310 so I know I need to get things in order ASAP as it runs rampant in my family but usually with the older aunts/uncles. I am only 32 and don't want it EVER !!!

    So I'm here and I am going to call my starting weight 280 and start date was Jan 3, 2007.

    Looking forward to sharing 2008 successes with you all !

    Goal 1 - Clean Induction (14 Days) DONE
    Goal 2 - Get Under 300 Lbs - Goal Met April 14, 2009
    Goal 3 - 290

    Welcome! I am a newbie too.
    2nd time trying induction in the last few weeks and only on day 2...well, in a few hours it will count as day 3 cuz I am up so dern late.

    Anywho, good luck! This is a great support system! Love it.

      Oh snap I forgot about the sticks !!

      Congrats on getting to Ketosis ! Stick in there for me day 2 was the hardest I watched one of my kids eat some corn bread and almost passed out from the delicious sweet smell.

      Today I'm grilling about 10 chicken breasts and a bunch of steak strips to take to work for lunch this week. I"m stocked up on Tuna and Eggs hehe gonna be alot of fun to be around :P

        if you do drink coffee again with cinnamon and splenda ... if you like cream in your coffee use it... mmmmmm Diet Rite is a diet soda that is made with splenda nd it is pretty sweet and comes in different flavors which may help. Also in those if oyu add some cream mmmm its REALLY good. a true creame soda.

        Video gaming - let me guess. WOW? lol anyway that was what I played. World Of Warcrack.

          Yeah, for me the ketosticks really pump me up. My gal pal and I are doing this together and she texts me "purple" or "pink" everyday visa versa. hehehe

          Beef jerky has kept me pretty happy today....and pork rinds...I am a 'snacker'.

            yup I NEED to belong in a WoW support group too so I've quit WoW and started Atkins within a month of each other.

            almost 3 years of that damn addictive time consuming game someone is gonna sue blizzard like the cigarette companies got sued one of these days

            now that I'm logged out and sold my characters I realize the entire game is structured in a way that you can not achieve anything without dumping extreme amounts of time into it . ...

            yeah i'm super embarrassed about it .. they got me eeek .. but I'm off now and can't go back because it will literally kill me !!

                    Hi Iped.... Congrats on the start and sounds like you are going through alot of the same stuff as me...My daughter(16) has been munching on all sorts of yummy smelling carbs and the other night we went out to outback and I was just dying because of no bread (I LOVE their bread) but I have to say I am less than a week in and down 5lbs so hang in there and boy did you find a great place here on the boards! This site has already helped me stay on track...

                      Hey there,

                      Congrats on getting started. I am in my 7th day now and I feel great. I am trying to quit the Diet Coke. I am down to 1-2 per day. I've been trying to find more info. on weight loss and Diet Coke. I was always under the assumption it didn't matter because it's... DIET. I keep reading posts and it looks like it really does matter. I just keep imagining the end result and it has kept me motivated. I know it is only the 7th day, but I feel so much better that alone is worth it. Keep it up! Just think how fast time flies. I have started and stopped so many diet only to look back and say "Well, if I would have stayed with it, it would already be 3 months in now. Best of luck to you!!!

                        There are already cases of kids commiting violent crimes, killing themselves and such because they weren't mentally stable while playing. Its the whole. D&D kills is evil thing just in real time.

                            Yes to veggies !!

                            For those new and eager to get into Ketosis I learned the uncomfortable way that its not worth it to skip that cup of lettuce

                            I will have some grilled steak or chicken over a small amount of shredded iceburg, or romain, or even some leaf spinach actually less than a cup and it's just enough to keep my digestion in order.

                            If you skip that tiny bit of fiber things can get "uncomfortable"

                              Welcome aboard! I think it is awesome that you are involving your kids in this lifestyle change for the better. Maybe you can switch them over to a more healthy way of eating, so they don't end up overweight at an early age. They'll follow your example quicker than your words of wisdom. Better that they never get addicted to carbs...or video games!


                              All that food you mentioned cooking and I don't see one veggie! Must eat up your veggies!
