Hi - I have been considering starting Atkins for a while, and finally just decided to do it. I need to get the book, which I plan to do today or tomorrow, but didn't want to wait to get started, so I decided when I woke up that this is it! I am 4'11" and weigh 166. Haven't decided on a goal weight yet, but am thinking around 110. I am so glad I came across this forum, as I feel it will be very helpful. I have already been inspired just looking through the posts and seeing the pictures and reading the success stories. One question - are diet drinks not allowed on Atkins? I saw a couple of places where people said they were trying to cut them out. Also what about Splenda? I am really excited, and can't wait to see the pounds start coming off!



You're in a terrific place for support and inspiration, so I bet you'll do really well. Kudos to you for your intention to read the book. It's so helpful to understand how and why this programme works. You need the 2002 edition of Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution, which is the one this board goes by.
