  • starting my 14 day induction

Hi everyone, today i began the induction phase, and i am really concerned about my ability to stick to this. I would really appreciate any and all support and tips to help me. I'm really excited about it, but, i am scared too. And if anyone could give me any ideas on how to stay focused on my diet while friends and family around me are eating all those foods that arent good for me, i would really really appreciate it. Thanks so much and wish me luck!

Re: starting my 14 day induction

    Hi Lisa,

Welcome! This is my second time around, but it's like the first time because I have to commit to this WOL and stick to it. This is day 4 for me.
What I do is I have the right food available. So that means I have to get a list go grocery shopping come home and cook. I cooked 2 meats on the grill last night. Already had some chicken breasts and chicken legs so I am set for days now. I cooked a cauliflower dish last night that I can eat on that a day or two. Last night did a stir fry of green peppers and mushroom sprinkled with garlic/onion powder.
I feel better knowing I have something already prepared that way I don't wait til I am hungry to have to cook everything. Really for me it is half the battle, before I began eating this way I was out of control and had no idea what I was gonna eat and thinking of food and eating food til stuffed.. This WOL relieves me of all that, I find peace knowing what I will eat and believe that I can do it.
    You can do this.
    Have a blessed day,
    Joy

Welcome to . You will love it here because you will find sooooooo much support from the others. I agree that you should start a journal - that will keep you accountable for this WOE. You might want to join a challenge and if you haven't read the book, that is a MUST!! Keep posting and keep everyone informed on how you are doing with this WOL.

            Hi Lisa,
This is day 9 for me. Each day gets easier and easier. This is my second time around. I won't lie, it's difficult at first but once you see the pounds melting off, its all the inspiration you'll need ! I feel great already even though I'm still overweight. You will too. Always have a snack handy in the fridge ! So you won't "freak out" when you're hungry. Drink lots of water. I guess the most important thing is to take it one day at a time. Don't think about " how am I gonna do this tomorrow or for months" It's " OK, lets do this TODAY" We're all here for eachother. Good luck to you and mw both !!

Welcome Lisa! Glad you joined our Atkins family.

You know, you get used to eating slightly differently to members of your family. It really does get easier as you go along. Remember to always keep a high fat snack handy at all times. This'll help with any cravings that hit.

Kudos to you for wanting to start a journal. It's a really good way to stay focused... also to make friends on the board.

Keep us updated. We're rooting for you!

I see people here talking about keeping a journal. What exactly are the benefits of this. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks in advance.

                  HI Moon,
I just started my journal today. I'm basically just writing down what i'm eating and how i'm feeling. I'm hoping that by having the journal to focus on,, it will also help me track how i'm doing on the diet and encourage me to not give up.
take care of yourself, and good luck....Lisa
