  • This Time It's for Real!

    Hi Everyone,

I've done atkins a few times before, but never seriously. I have been on and off of it over the last year. I made the mistake of thinking I could have "cheat" days. I had originally lost 30 lbs, but gained back quite a bit of it over the Holidays. I'm tired of being a slave to food, and to tell the truth, I didn't even enjoy the holidays because I felt guilty for eating wrong. This time I'm starting over, and I'm determined to get it right. I have been on strict atkins since January 3rd, and have lost 12 lbs. Overall, I am 22 lbs down from my highest weight. My sister and I are doing atkins together, and I think it makes such a difference to have someone else to motivate you. I have alot to lose, but I am committed to changing my lifestyle and doing what is necessary to be and stay healthy!

I made the same mistakes as you. I did Atkins a few years back, and had lost a lot of weight. Once I got "comfortable" I started cheating more and before long I had gain back all of my weight plus several pounds. I, like you, have committed to sticking to this WOE this time. Best of luck to us both, b/c it sounds like we are pretty much in the same boat!!! I have complete faith in us!!!!

Welcome Sarah! Looks like there are alot of us in the same situation....Come back kids! I too lost a great amount of weight, but never reached goal, and after a few years, gained back just over half what I had lost! Pictures of our last vacation in November brought me to my senses, and I'm on the right track again. THis is the best place to be for support and encouragement. It looks like we're all making the right decisions now, the ultimate is to be Healthy! Congrats on your 12 pound lost so far.
