    Hi all,

    I am delighted to have found you!. I started Atkins 9 days ago and already lost 7lbs. The biggest thing is that I feel so good! I certainly do not crave foods, I enjoy the food I'm eating also I have much more energy. so all is good so far.
    Again I have to say how good I'm feeling ... its almost like I am more peaceful .... I defiantly think I have a food intolerance to wheat/yeast.

    starting weight : 251lbs

      Good to hear you're feeling so good on Atkins! Congrats on your 7 lbs loss, so far.

      Don't be shy of asking any questions you might have. There's always someone around to lend a hand.

            Welcome and good job so far......7lbs is a really good start, keep up the good work.

            You will find lots and lots of support over here. In about a week i'll join one of the many challenges that take place on this forum they always give me that extra UUNNFF

              Hi Monica! Welcome to the board. You've done terrific so far! The food intolerance you speak of is fondly known as carbohydrate addiction. It's no different than a drug addiction. We get off of it, feel poorly for a day or two while we withdraw, then we feel the great energy of Atkins. You can do this! Come around the board often.

                Gosh ! I am delighted with my the praise and encouragement. Thank you.
                This is the first time EVER on a food plan that I don't think about food .... I know what I'm going to have for my meals and what time I'm going to eat and I seem to be satisfied with that!! thats a miracle. I have listened to "other people" (non carby addicts) " I eat every night at 7 " that always drove me nuts, if I planned to eat every night at 7 I would have eaten a meal+ by the time 7 came and then sit and have a normal sized meal at 7! then a chocolate bar etc etc. Sillygirl you have said it in a nut shell for me !! Carbs are like a drug !! infact my first couple of days on Atkins was like coming off cigarettes. Well at the moment I still feel terrific the skin condition that i had on my hands has cleared up .. my ankles are much smaller and I jumped out of bed this morning giving my daughter a fright !! ( she has never seen anything like it !) I am decorating my bedrooms today ... I have never had the energy to do it before ....

                  I'm in my third week, and I cant belive the energy I have as well...thats what makes this so great...I wake up everyday raring and ready to go...not like b4, I use to wake up drained!

                    I am in my second week also and I share you same feelings! I am down 11 pounds in 14 days and feeling great. I hit a stall after 9 pounds, but upped my water consumption and jumped back on the loser train

                      Hi,

                      I'm still doing well and keeping to things ...I do feel a bit concerned about the amount of carbs in my veggies, I will see how my weight is at the end of this week ..... I think i need to cut down a bit. Just finished my fav tea fried pepper and mushrooms in butter with some tarragon and cream poured over a fried chicken breast with crispy skin ! and a side of cauliflower ( I'm still amazed at the lovely food on this diet).
                      I am on the third week of induction, on Sunday I go onto OWL.
                      I have lost 11lbs up to now.
                      A couple of questions ......
                      can we eat sugar free gum? is water melon low carb ?

                      I'm going to start looking up recipes for next week.

                      thanks again for your suport.... oh .. how do you get the weight loss bar at the bottom of your posts?
