    Hi everyone,

I visited this cite almost a year ago hoping I could find some kind of help or support to get me started on the Atkins diet. I have read many of our comments and marvel at your success stories but, still I can't seem to get the diet started. I bought a Atkins Diet book hoping I could do the diet on my own, but so far have not succeeded. I wish there was a support group I could meet with, I think I could do better with personal contact. Currently I am about 60 pounds overweight and feel it.

Good luck to all of you; one day I hope to post I have finally started! Cak

get yourself familiar with the 14 day induction forum and start thinking of this as a way of eating and not a diet.

          Re: wishful thinking

I have tried ALL sorts of diets and had mediocre results. My brother lost 24 pounds eating all the foods that seem really bad for you. I could not believe it either. Perhaps you need to give it a try! I was a total candy freak -- gummies, jujubes, etc. I would eat a bag a night almost. If I can walk way from that sweet tooth, I encourage you to start!! Today is day 3 and this morning the scale was down 3 lbs. I just did a ketostix and am over the moon with purple results! I think people walk away from diets because they do nol see any tangible results. For me, I just needed to see the purple stick! I know its sounds crazy but I have 22 pounds to go!!
