This is my first post so I wanted to introduce myself to the group .
I Started the Atkins Diet on Tuesday January 15,2008 , then I found this group few days ago and decided to join because I need support and I want to give support to other ...
" I am addicted to food "
When I was a teenager I became obsessed with my weight , at the time I was 120 pounds . I started starving myself then I switch to becoming bulimic for many years . Then I stopped throwing up my meals because , I could feel my heart beating fast and it was a strain to my body .
So I stop throwing up my meals and just became a binge eater and packing the pounds .
This was my way of coping physical and mental abuse from my family .
I wanted some kind of control of my life and so this is why I have an eating disorder ...
I have tried many diets and diet pills to control my binge eating but nothing worked .
So I am trying the Atkins because from what I have read sounds like it might work for me because , it says it takes your cravings of sweets away and that is the key for me to stop over eating .
I have been on this diet for 3 days str8 and I have not cheated or wanted to cheat .
I realize I can never have donuts , cake , candy bars because I can't handle it !
I can't just have one cookie and I know this for a fact ...
Food to me is like an alcoholic to a drink
Thank God there is hope for us because we have to eat unlike the other addictions out there ...
To much sugar in me doesnt mix well ..
Last year I quit smoking so this year my goal is to be back at what I was when I got married . 110 is my goal weight but this time aground I am going to do it the healthy way and not the wrong way .
When I was at 110 you would think I was happy but I wasn't I was a mess because I was a bulimic .
