I'll answer the q you asked Emma - for me cravings for bread and pasta never really happened, but chocolate was a big problem. Not helped by dabbling in cocoa power legal atkins desserts (too often) which meant the hold never really went away. I think they key is to not cheat for a long as possible and you body and mind get totally used to it in the end. Also watch out for trigger foods that make you crave things you shouldn't have.

I am from Dublin too. I started on Monday and I was down 5 lbs this morning when I weighed myself. Wow it is a great feeling though I am craving everything - chocolate mostly - but I seem to be able to resist - just hope that I can keep it up!!
Hello and welcome to the ADBB Irish people!! I am in Kilkenny, in the sunny (not!!!) south east.
Stick in there and the cravings will go. Giving up bread was my worst fear, but now I don't care about it at all - I can even go to Superquinn and wander past the bakery without being tempted to pick up a fresh loaf.
Not giving into your cravings is the best way to go, but when I really want chocolate I've found that a teaspoon of Green & Black cocoa powder (which has no sugar), whipped into some Mascarpone or any cream cheese, with a little vanilla essence makes a lovely smooth treat which tastes like an expensive choc dessert. Only now and again though.
Hint: Buy the cheaper Goodalls vanilla essesnce - the dearer and supposedly better one has sugar in it.

Great to hear from the other Irish people here - and Kate thank you so much for the chocolate dessert tip - I have bought the ingredients and will try it out at the weekend for a treat. Well done to you for having lost so much and best of luck getting to your goal - I have stalled a bit after the first 5lbs - but I am determined to keep on at this - nothing else has worked for me!!
I'm not in Ireland, but I wanna be! In Idaho, spuds are our staple, which got me to where I am now. (I'm actually of Irish descent--luv those potatoes)
