  • Slacker!

    Greetings all,

I did Induction for five weeks up until Chrismas last year, I was happy with the results, I lost over 7kg and had never felt better. I was able to power through my nightly walk (used to take an hour, got it down to 45min) and when time allowed, I could do this morning and night and still feel great.

I'm a total foodie, I love good wine and food but my biggest weakness has always been chocolate.

After a three week break for Christmas and my husband's birthday, I started back on induction and have lost a further 3kg over the last three weeks.

However, I'm here today because I feel like a total slacker.

I have also been working 12 - 13 hour days so I haven't been able to start walking again.

In fact, the only excercise I have been doing is 30 minutes of anerobic excerices that my physio gave me because I hurt my back a couple of weeks ago.

My other big induction no-no is nuts!

I love nuts and have been eating a small portion each day, I love them for the crunch and I just find a small serve so satisfying.
I mainly have macadamias (5.5g net carb / 100g) or pecans (4.1g net carb / 100g) and each serve is approx 50g.

    And red wine.

This time around, I have been having a couple of glasses a week. In my head I try and justify the health benefits

So, my reason for posting today is to air my intention to get serious again and put aside my franken-induction with no more excuses.

Once I post this, I'm going for a walk. It is also my first full weekend off working in weeks and realising how haggard and tired I look and feel, I'm also making a commitment to myself to put my health first (I need to learn to delegate!)

So far, from a starting weight of 94.5kg, I'm at 83.9kg. I'm nearly at my initial goal of 82kg which gives me a BMI of 25 (I'm 180cm female) but I can now see that I have a lot further to go until I reach a weight / shape I'm happy to show off.

Anyway, I've posted this to you good folk, I need to get up and go for that walk now. :joy

Just continue on this journey and for sure, you'll get at your goal weight/shape eventually. Remember that even a single & small step will lead us to our goal as long as we continue on our journey. You have already done a fantastic job of losing that much weight you only need to keep on going...

Welcoome, and glad you found us. Please don't feel like a slacker cause your just not. It takes a while to change a life time of eating wrong.

Induction is only two weeks and wine, both red and white is okay on OWL, up to one glass a day according to atkins.com. Just remember that the body will burn off the alcohol before it burns fat so its a little trade off, but not a huge one.

You might want to try the Walk Away the Pounds Video tape, you can do them at home, any time.
