OH NO! I spent an half-hour writing up a really good intro post only to hit "Back" by accident right before posting it. Now i'm reminded of why I always used to write forum posts in Word then copy + paste. Oh well...
My name is Audrey, i'm 21 years old, and this is my third time following a low-carb way of eating with any seriousness. I had written up a lot about myself and how I came to fall on and off the plan in the past but alas, it was not meant to be. To sum up what I had said: I moved, got an office job, got a car, started eating junk and gained what feels like over 9,000 pounds as a result. I'm also an emotional/stress eater.
I know that Atkins works for me. When I follow the plan I eat way less, lose weight at the rate of about 1-2lbs a week, have WAY more energy, and more importantly have more mental clarity. I am happy and walk around "high on life." I want all of that back.
I'm an extremely busy person with 40+ hours a week of work, 10 hours on-campus of class and probably twice that in homework. I would love to find an exercise challenge that will work with my schedule, so anything my fellow over-burdened folks can suggest that has worked with their lifestyles would be greatly appreciated. For now i'm going to try to do the equivalent of an half-hour a day of DDR to get some of my energy back.
Starting tomorrow it's going to be a strict induction for me. I know I can do it because i'm a motivated individual and i've done it in the past, but I have to be extra careful not to overindulge myself on cheese - My one low-carb weakness! I just went shopping today and got an whole fridge full of legal goodies, so I have no excuse to put this off any longer.
A little bit about me ~ I'm a wannabe novelist, though my writing time has been completely pwned by school this semester. I love to read, i'm addicted to music (my favorites are Patrick Wolf and Flogging Molly), i'm studying Arabic, and my degree focus is philosophy and religious studies. I also have an active livejournal so if any of you are on there, feel free to add me: http://vonheston.livejournal.com/profile
It's nice to meet everyone!
