Technically this is my 2nd time on Atkins. The first time in August '07 I was on for a week without cheating & lost 6 lbs., but somehow I ended up getting out of my groove and couldn't get back on track even after trying desperately. I figured I just needed a little extra time to get situated before starting again.
So a couple weeks ago I had finally gotten to that place where I said "Alright, I'm ready to go." I had firmly resolved to start the same week I signed up here, but then I couldn't find my copy of DANDR!! I just don't feel comfortable doing Atkins without the book. I've been searching for that thing for 2 weeks!! I still don't know where my first copy is (I had everything nicely noted & organized too
), but I finally went out and bought another one last Friday, and am on Day 1 of my Induction.
Currently I'm about 130 lbs., but I'm only 5 foot tall & nearly all 130 lbs. of me is fat; so even though the numbers don't seem huge, I'm actually quite heavy for my small frame (measurements can attest to that sadly enough). At 105 lbs. I look very healthy without being too skinny (being too thin is worse than being too heavy if you ask me), so 105-110 is my final goal weight, but it will really all depend on how I look - not what the scale says.
Here's the kicker though - I just found out a week ago that hubby & I will be going to Puerto Rico at the end of February. There's a black tie event that we must attend & in my current physical state I just don't look good and formal evening wear is only going to make me look all the worse. So in the next 4 weeks I'll be working my butt off - LITERALLY!
I plan on staying on Induction for the next 4 weeks, making sure to excersise EVERY DAY!! While I don't expect to be at my final goal weight at the end of those 4 weeks, I do expect to have a much improved figure regardless of my weight. I firmly believe that visiting ADBB daily will help as well. Knowing there are others out there as determined (or more so) as myself will help keep me going. So here's to DETERMINATION and MOTIVATION!! Look out fat - I'm coming after you...
