      Hi Porcelain -

THANK YOU for your post and words of encouragement! I remember reading YOUR posts too, because of your mention about your "Ketostik addiction" ... I can relate! Even though my stix are usually PURPLE, the weight is just NOT budging ... so my scale has a chance to MAYBE gather a few specks of dust these days, while I'm "getting my fix" constantly checking with those 'ole Ketostix! I KNOW I need to "chill out" and just quit worrying/thinking about it ... I KNOW the weight IS going to come off ... albeit SLOWLY! But like I said in my original post, THAT'S OKAY ... I just need to 'buck up' and keep going!

I will DEFINITELY be following your progress as well ... THANKS AGAIN for posting!

***Since I'm new, I'm curious what "6WEC" means?!?

        Hi Alma -

THANK YOU for YOUR post too! I LOVE your family pictures! I also noticed that you are from one of the places that I can remember from family vacations when I was young ... Colorado is SO gorgeous! Being from Montana, I LOVE the mountains and the change of seasons and Colorado is just one of those states that I wouldn't mind living in!

I agree with you ... everyone on this board IS amazing!!! It's funny how MUCH the encouragement of it's members mean ... maybe that's because we're all "in the same place", as far as needing/wanting to lose weight. Which reminds me, I COMMEND you in joining this board when you "only" have 6 pounds that you want to lose ... probably 99.9% of the people on this website would LOVE to "only" want to lose 6 pounds! I am NOT in ANY way "poking fun at you" or whatever ... 6 pounds to you is probably like 40 pounds to me ... the number is important to US, not to others ... it's what will make US feel like WE want to feel, right?!? In any case, I will watch your progress as you go along and wish you the BEST SUCCESS!

THANKS AGAIN for posting and ... YOU GO GIRL!

              Re: 'Newbie with a 'tude!!!

6WEC = Six week exercise challenge. At the beginning of the six weeks, you post how many days you are going to exercise then you stick to it. You come on every day and post in that day's thread whether you exercised or took a rest day. I chose this one because I wasn't just doing one exercise because I didn't know what I wanted to do for exercise, I just know I needed to do something every day, even if it was walking on the treadmill for 15 minute intervals. When I first started, I tried to do too much all at once and now that I am breaking it up, I found I am sticking with it and actually getting more accomplished.

Stick with it! Make sure you drink your water and you are not getting dehydrated!

LOL!! I started Atkins at 137 lbs (from 137 to 126 in 3 month's!), I'm 4'11, so that is ALOT of weight for my height and frame!! I finally made goal on the 2nd of February, and after I reach 120, I may shoot for 115 and then 110 after! Baby steps, baby steps..

And yes, Colorado is beautiful, I've only lived here for a year, but so far so good!! Hope you had an amazing day today!!

                    Hi Porcelain -

Maybe I should join one of those exercise challenges ... that is one thing I DO do right ... LOVE to exercise ... it's "MY" time, it helps my back, my mood, EVERYTHING! I am also a water drinker - it's been my 'beverage of choice' since I was young. My 'vice' is caffeine-free Diet coke and/or Diet A & W Root Beer ... but I haven't had one since starting Atkins a month ago ... for me, it's just better to TOTALLY give it up rather than try to have one "once in a while". I used to teach aerobics, years ago, and I was TOTALLY addicted to Diet Coke (and it wasn't caffeine free either!). The WITHDRAWALS I went through when I finally decided to give it up were U N R E A L !!! That was VERY telling for me to see what that stuff had done to my body ... I was HOOKED on the stuff! No different than a junkie! So I switched to plain 'ole water and try to drink a pop only once in a GREAT while.

So do you have any of your own "tips" for me ... as to how you lost your 40 pounds?!? That is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO awesome!!!

                    THANKS AGAIN FOR POSTING!
