  • Effie's Back Again Again AGAIN?!

    Hello...

It's been a while since I frequented these boards. I'm about 60 pounds heavier than when I started the first time. I feel like I keep making attempts to come back to this WOL, but they fizzle after 1-2 days. Because of that, I don't want to ramble too much about how this time is going to be it, because I think I'll see if I can get past a few days before I start shouting from the rooftops. I needed to post this to at least commit myself to actually starting.

    Here's to starting...

What is important is that you are not giving up. Glad you found your way back and that you are starting again.

It is nice seeing a picture where I actually have a neck!

Hi Effie! LOL I feel like you. I had a 50 lb success with Atkins my first go around and now, many years later, I find myself RIGHT back at that 165.8 lbs I fought so hard to bannish years ago. I kept trying to do Atkins, but I had the same success rate. Start full force with great intentions and within a week, I was curled up on my couch with a pint of Ben and Jerry - and not too much longer, buying bigger pants. ;-)

I even found this website and joined in November. My coworkers and I all decided to do Atkins and within 4 days, I was the only one doing anything even REMOTELY close to trying to lose weight and I lost my motivation. I relocated to Dallas in December, and I started Atkins 2 times since then. I even made a nice mockery of myself by posting my befores and then quitting! LOL.

I restarted, this time with a lot more support from my hubby and a lot more belief in the system working thanks to reading (well, still reading, its a THICK book!) Gary Taube's Good Calories, Bad Calories, yesterday. I reposted my befores (oi, that was fun) and started a thread for us mid-February starters in the Inductions forum. I also am determined to annoy everyone here by posting ALL the time in order to keep my mind focused.

So maybe we can keep each other on track so that we both can soon shout from rooftops and mean it! =)

Hi Effie! I'm here again, too.

I have 55 pounds to lose. I lost 40 the last time, and put it all back on in a few years. I have done the same thing as Miss Brittney and posted my before pics, then quit, since then.

Here's to motivating each other and to a new renewed way of life. We are worth it.
