  • 2nd Time Around... Here We Go!

Hi everyone, and wow... lots of people joining here every day!

I lost a total of 40 pounds on Atkins a few years back. I did it in a very unusual way, but let's just say, this time I will need to follow things exactly because I'm older this time (almost 40) and more serious about making a life change vs. just losing weight.

Tired of shopping at Lane Bryant, want to get back to my old Gap jeans I was wearing after my last success. I had never had more fun shopping in my life!

I will need support, so that's why I am here. My "dieting buddy" didn't even start induction on the day we agreed. Sooo... this is my "about me": Single, work full time, mom, 40-ish, need to lose 55 pounds (me) and walking/treadmill jogging for exercise. Let the losing begin!

Note to self: Gotta get ketostix tomorrow.

Re: 2nd Time Around... Here We Go!

Whaaaaaa? =) Its just early in the week and my eyes don't catch all the posts. Plus for some odd reason, I totally thought I replied to this and thought YOU had replied back. LOL. Count me in as being a REAL blonde!

So welcome aboard! I've definately felt that before (the dieting buddy thing). About 7 months back I wanted to do Atkins but nabbed a coworker as a dieting buddy. By Day 3, I had a craving and went by her desk and she seemed fine. Apparently she didn't bother to read the book or even learn what a carb was.. so she was doing the diet by having breaded chicken and her allowable veggies in wrapped tortillas!!!

So this time around, I want the support but have the selfish "well I'll count only on myself" =)

Not sure which day you started, but we have a little thread for the early/mid Feb starters here as well: http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...305#post851305 It helps to have a little group to feel the same phases with! =)

Heyyyy, yeah! I started 3 days ago, 2/9. I was actually coming back here to delete my sad post! It didn't sound like me. I'm dealing with other stuff too, healthwise, and just wanted some instant love, i guess!! Sorry about that.

Oh, and that's sooo funny about your coworker! Interesting what people think Atkins is, when they haven't read the book, huh.

I'll check the link and see you there.

Welcome to the board, you will do great. Sorry we all missed your post, very unlike ADBB.

            What I know:
            1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.
