  • Six weeks and losing

I have been on Atkins for 5 weeks and doing the extended induction period. I am 5'4'' tall, female, 42 years and my h/w 265 c/w don't know and goal weight 145. I have decided to measure myself instead of weighing myself because just after my period last month, I hopped on the scale and it said 265 and a couple of days later it said 270 plus. Yikes....I was terrified! I, of course came straight here to figure out what happened and with a little research the answers were found. So, I have decided to measure my loses and I am losing inches and that is great!

I have really utilized this website and I cannot thank you enough for all the support. I am just now moving into OWL. I am still in the research stage, trying to figure it out. The way I look at it, as long as I keep reading your posts and advice, I may stumble but I will not fall too hard.

I tried posting a picture, however it stated that their too big so I gotta figure that out too. I truly enjoy the before and after photo's, this really motivates me and inspires me to not quit. What has become so inspiring in your photos' are the smiles and how beautiful each and every one of you are after losing weight. I don't just see beauty on the outside, I see beauty and confidence on the inside. I really want that!

Welcome! as far as your photos, I use Photobucket.com and you can resize them there. I like that feature then I don't have to fuss with them.

Yes the board is great! Be sure to stay around and read a lot. BUT, if you have a question you can't find the answer to searching around, be sure to post it. You will get a lot of support.

I hate the scale too. I don't trust it. I gave it to my husband to hide and I don't weigh until the end of the month. Hey, if you are getting smaller and you can see it and measure it, what does it matter what the scale says, right?

CONGRATS on the loss! And for popping in to say hello! =) I'm a newbie but the folks here are great and incredibly supportive. And I'm glad youre taking measurements. Because weight can flucuate so easily and for so many reasons, I definately do both myself and rely more on the measurements. I found I put too much emotion into the scale's numbers before. Plus my scale is faulty (or our kitchen floor is uneven) - I once discovered everything apparently weighs about 6 lbs more near the dishwasher! LOL. So now I keep the scale in the EXACT same place so I get the same style of reading.
