  • Hey Ya'll...from SC

I have been visiting off and on for a year or so. I did Atkins 4 years ago, and lost 50#. I only regained after I tore everything in my ankle, without breaking it! (didn't do anything but eat and sit for 3 months) Anyway, I am on my 6th day and feeling great!! I don't weigh myself anymore, as I found that a bit destructive years ago. All I know is that I wear a size 22 and want to be back in a 12-14. When I began a week ago, I was a tight 22, but now am in a loose 22, almost to a 20....so this feels good again. I hope to continue induction for the next 2 months, maybe throw in a few carbs every once in a while.....

I really enjoy reading all of the posts!! This time around I feel more supportive having found this site, I read every day and am so INSPIRED, it just keeps me going!!! :icondance

maybe throw in a few carbs every once in a while.....

My advice from someone who tried that, try at all cost to avoid them. If you are doing it well and finding it easy then stick to it. I made the mistake of trying carbs a little and eventually it let to a full blown of the wagon trip. Now I am finding it so hard to stick to.

Thanks, I know that can be VERY true. I only meant, in another month or so to have a little bit of "good carbs" every once in a while.
That's how I did it last time, and it worked well. I did keep my weight off for 1 & 1/2 years....until my injury.

        Steph,

Welcome to the ADBB. This is the best place to go to find support from people who are making it happen. You'll receive lots of positive information and motivation as you get healthy and lose weight.

Have you read the Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution edition 2002? It is essential in doing the plan the way the doctor intended it to be done. If you follow the rules, take supplements, exercise and drink water, you will succeed. I know this as well as anyone. I never thought this would work for me, but in the past 11 months, I've changed my whole way of eating and living around and I'm 100% happier and feel great.

Best wishes to you. If you need more motivation please visit the loser's lounge and the before/after forum to read what others have to say about how this WOE worked for them.
