  • Hi, I'm new to ADBB

I'm new to ADBB but have been trying to get to about 115 to 120 lbs. on Atkins since 2003. My heaviest was at 175 lbs. I started Atkins then and lost 30 lbs. I have had several restarts. My latest restart was Jan 2, 2008. Start weight was 159 lbs. and am currently at 152. I have been stuck there for the last 3 weeks. I think I started adding other foods too fast. I added yogurt, Danon Carb control yogurt,...I love yogurt. Then I added about 10 blueberries a day. This week I added 2 strawberries a day. I think I will drop back to induction levels again to see if I start loosing again.

    Typical food for a day:
Breakfast: 1-minute muffin (1/8 cup flaxseed meal, 1/8 cup whey protein powder, 2 pkts Splenda, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 2 tbsp coconut oil, 1 large egg, 1 tbsp cinnamon. 10 oz cup of coffee, 2 tsp Splenda, 2 Tbsp half 'n half.

Lunch: 2 baked chicken thighs (no skin..can't stand chicken skin), 1/2 cup green beans with butter on top. 20 oz. water.
another 20 oz. water in the afternoon
Dinner: 6 oz. Sirloin steak broiled, fat eaten. 1 cup salad Romaine lettuce w/ Parmesan cheese and Italian dressing (0 carb). 1 cup Broccoli and Cauliflower with butter. 20 oz. water.

Have been walking 3 evenings each week for 15-20 minutes.
I just don't know what else to do.

Re: Hi, I'm new to ADBB

Hello! I have been having such a hard time without my yogurt too! I haven't heard someone else say that. I think that's my hardest because I ate it literally every day. I'm on induction and just finished my first week. This is my second time around (STAC) and there are a ton of people here doing this for the second or third time.

What I love about it is, no matter how many times you've stalled, had life or health run you off the plan, it's easy to get back on. Glad to have you here! There are so many supportive board members and a lottt of good information.

Hiya and welcome back to Atkins and the ADBB!

Try cutting out the yogurt and see if your loss picks up. Dairy messes some people up, and it's a sad truth that often the things we love most are those that we're sensitive to.

What OWL rung are you currently on?
If you like walking, how about joining our pedometer challenge? http://www.atkinsdietbulletinboard.c...ad.php?t=52465 You just clip on a pedometer and tot up your daily steps to meet a weekly goal. It's fun and it's surprising how this gives you the incentive to do that little bit extra.

          Happy Atkineering!

Re: Hi, I'm new to ADBB

Thank you all for the warm welcome!
I cut the yogurt out on Thursday and the weight went down Sunday by .5 lbs. Yaaaaay!!! Thanks for the advice Sallyseachange and Theamazingunderdog.
Ketone, The 1-minute muffin is just extremely versatile! I use it to make wonderful pancakes, cinnamon muffin, chocolate muffin and there are a host of other variation I haven't tried yet. I want to try a savory one with no sweetner but garlic and onion powder. Just Google "one minute muffin" you will find a host of different recipes. It is great with a few blueberries tossed in....I could go on and on. It is very filling too. Easily last's me from 5:30 in the morning to lunch time at noon. If you want me to send you the recipe PM me.

Hi and welcome. I will also have to try your one minute muffins for a breakfast variation - had the cheesecake pancakes that someone else listed - which were pretty good - just kinda missed my syrup.. but I will prevail and get used to having them without it!

You might want some vanilla extract or vanilla SF syrup in it. I usually use 1 Tbsp SF Vanilla Syrup, Torani's or DaVinci's

Deb... one more thought. It's not a great idea to go from early morning until noon without eating. Is there anyway to work in a snack mid-morning? As I'm sure you know, you'll keep your metabolism working if you eat more often during the day...

                        Best of luck to you...

I have thought about that and think if I split my one minute muffin in half I can eat the second half at 10:00 am. Thank you for the advice.
