  • Second time around....Help

I have learned that the second time around is not so easy. Atleast for me it's not. I went on Atkins August 02, 2003 and joined here shortly after. I found ths woe so easy for me AT THE TIME. I stuck with it for about 9 months. I joined a gym and was working out and doing great. In that time I lost 40 pounds. Then things went sour, I took a break for awhile due to financial problems. My husband left a job he had been working at for 7 years for another job that we thought would be good for us financially. As it turned out it was not the case at all (long story). So for the past couple of months I have been trying to get back on track. IT IS SO HARD!!! I wish I had never quit the first time it was so easy then. My starting weight was 230#, I got down to 190# I am now at 205#. It seems that every time I get back on the pounds are not going off as fast as they were the first time around. I really missed ADBB because everyone is so supportive. I lost touch because my computer (house and all) was hit by lightening in 2004 so we were without for awhile. I am back now and really need some motivation and advice for the second time around.

I had a journal last year. I would really like to read it but have not been able to find it. How long are they saved if you dont log on for a extended period of time?

Another question even though I am starting over should I list my start weight at 230 or what is is now?

You list what you think is right. This is your board.
About every other post someone saids this is their second time around so there are a lot of folks who can relate to your problem. I think they have special problems also because once you allowed yourself to go back to high carbs, it seems that its easier to allow it again. (and thats just my opinion)
Saying that, maybe a new mindset is in order. Think of this WOE as a lifelong commitment to health and not a temporary diet to lose weight, then with that in mind, a slip off the old wagon is just a learning experience. AND in the big scheme of things, only a little bump in the road.

You are right. I just need to jump back on the wagon and handcuff myself to it!!! The way I look at is I lost 40 pounds fairly quickly before and now I dont have as much to loose, so 40 pounds from now I would be 165. Sounds awesome to me!!! I did it once I can do it again!!!

Thanks so much for the encouragement!!!
