  • Introduction of me

Good Afternoon and happy Family Day! (Ontario)
I always did dislike introducing myself but I have a feeling that the more involved I am the more likely I am to suceed.
I am a 26 year old female who has a very busy though inactive lifestyle. When I add the fact that 70% of my consumable foods are carbs it makes for a horrible combination. Currently I am tipping the scales at 233 Lbs. I know it is time for a complete lifestyle change. I have a friend that started Atkins in November and she is doing a wonderful job. When I saw that the foods she was able to consume were made up of the other 30% of my favorites I decided it was time to go out and buy the book. My friend clearly stated that the 2002 version was the only acceptable one for me to use. After I got a 2002 copy and read it through to the end of the induction phase I decided it was time for some prep and research. I do not start the plan until Feb 25th due to the fact that it will take me approximately that long to restock my pantry with the correct foods and pre-plan my 14-day Induction menu (Not to mention come to terms with having to kick my coffee habit!). I spent a few hours browsing the forums and decided that this was a the place to go for information and encouragement. So here I am.

Happy Family Day to you as well...love having a day off from classes in the middle of February. However, by next year I'm sure Hallmark will have ruined the spirit of the holiday somehow

welcome! I think starting a journal is the best way to be able to write what you eat and have people be able to contact you easy. look on journals and just start a thread and it is your journal. Hope to see you around soon! -Kathy

              Re: Introduction of me

Vothenator hello... and welcome! Good to have you with us.

Kudos to you for reading the book (and the correct edition!) and getting all prepared. Preparation is the absolute key to this way of eating; and if you are always prepared with a high fat snack to hand at all times, it can be a real life saver when (or if) cravings hit in the early days.

Look forward to your start on the 25th and to reading about your progress.
              Before and after:
