  • Here for support!!

    Hello Everyone,

I am a SAHM, a pilot's wife (so I am alone 6 days until my DH comes home for 3-5 days) and I have 2 gorgeous boys. I actually had no trouble losing or staying at a healthier BMI when I was working, you tend to think about food less when you have a million things to do. I still have a million things to do, but it is always within the vecinity of the pantry and fridge.
My fridge contains several cans of slimfast. This is what I have been attempting since 12/30/07 and have lost a grand total of (hope your sitting down, pretty impressive) 3 lbs. Plus the boys and I dance around the house all day so I can log at least 10000 steps a day...... if anyone saw us they would think we were nuts!!!! So I find the 3 lbs extremely frustrating.
I am trying Atkins for the second time, the first time I was not ready and cracked pretty quickly, last attempt was 3 years ago. This time I am ready, I cannot go another summer wearing capri pants in 103 degree Texas heat. I want to wear shorts.
I sure am glad to be here, glad to be starting something that I know will work. FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION!!!!!!

    Thanks for reading my post,

Goal: To have my husband tell me he wants me to meet some of the pilots he flies with and me not having a panic attack thinking "you want them to meet your fat wife?" I want to feel confident again!!!

Hello and good luck. When are you starting? I have to wait about a week to start, but I cannot wait. All of the success stories I have read have been so encouraging and motivational. I think if we all stick together and support each other, we can all be out of capri pants in no time. My husband likes to absolutely L. I. V. E. at the river during the spring/summer, and Ive spent the past 3 years being embarassed to be out there w/ them because I look HORRIBLE in a bikini. I refuse to go through another year of that!!
