    New from Florida

I started my induction on Feb. 25th at 126 lbs. I'm 5'1 and 50 years old. As of today I am 124 which is what I was yesterday too. I feel I am losing slower than the others who have posted. Perhaps I'm just too anxious. I haven't fallen off the wagon and have no intention of quitting. I weigh everything and carry the allowed list with me at all times. I did the low fat for many months and walked around starving only to lose 4 pounds over 3 months. This is so much easier. I'm lucky my husband also started the same day as me and he is down 5 pounds. My goal is 115 it just looks so far away.. Well I just wanted to introduce myself so you are there for me at my weak moments.

    Hi, Ladybug

    Welcome to ADBB!

In Induction, we can expect to lose about 10% of the total of the weight we want to lose. If you started at 126 and your goal is 115, that is a total of 11 pounds to lose. 10% of that would be 1.1 pounds. You have already lost 2 pounds in 4 days... you are way ahead of the game, and are in fact, losing faster than most. Consider the percentage of body weight lost, not actual number of pounds, because you don't have that much to lose. You can't expect to keep up with someone who has more weight to lose.

You have proven that you are not metabolically resistant to weight loss, so try not to be anxious. You are doing a fine job! Just relax, and learn as much as you can about this WOE and your body. Move on to OWL as soon as your 2 week Induction is completed. You have a lot of rungs to go through, and need to find your CCLL.

Tell hubby he is doing great, too! Best wishes to you both.

        What I know:
        1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

Warm welcome aboard Ladybug! Nice to meet you.

I'll ditto everything Mitzi said, especially her advice that you move to OWL as soon as you finish induction. You need time to move up the carb ladder.
Don't worry... you're doing really well. Just relax, enjoy the terrific foods you can eat on Atkins and time will take care of the weight.

          Happy losing!

Thanks everyone for welcoming me. I am finding this very easy on day 6 with a loss of 5 lbs. I am not missing anything or craving anything! In fact I'm feeling great and even more sure I can stick to this after seeing all your pics and progresses. You are all an inspiration. THANK YOU!
