  • Hello everyone!

This board is great! I like to see everyone's photos. I am trying to get my camera to take smaller photos. I had my baby 3 years ago and thew myself back into college. I really like to eat while I do my homework and I am still at my delivery weight! YIKES. However, I am so happy and I graduate in May. This is my 3rd day on Atkins boy do I have a constant, killer headache! I have done Atkins in the past and lost and I am hoping to do it again. My friend and I are going to Las Vegas for New Years and I want to look good by then.

    Hi, SeaSands

    Welcome to the ADBB!

So, you are a second timer? Me, too! I'm glad that you've come back to the plan that you know works. Don't ever fall prey to the "one golden shot" theory... that Atkins can really only work well the first time you do it. Bull! I've done much better this time around.

Here is the link to a forum called STAC (Second Time Around Club).

These are a great bunch of folks, who have returned to Atkins after having strayed from plan. There's tons of support and motivation to be had.

Make sure to take the time to wander all around the board. So much to learn, and friends to make. Have an awesome week!

Welcome to the boards! I know about studying and eating. I just got my LVN and now I am working on my RN so trying to get ready for school and trying to make sure I have the right food to eat is very hard. Planning is the key! You can do this. Just read the book and be sure to come back here and post often if you have any questions! The support here is fantastic.

        What I know:
        1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

Hiya and welcome! Nice to meet you.
Hope your killer headache is better now... that's probably a touch of induction flu, which is when your body weans itself off carbs. It usually only lasts a few days, after which you'll begin to feel better and better.

Post lots and keep us up to date as to your progress!

                  Re: Hello everyone!

Hello all you successful Atkins and new to ATKINS!

I am on my 2nd time for ATKINS. It's been 16 months since my third baby was born and I've decided to go back on ATKINS. I did Atkins after my 2nd baby, quite successfully, I went from 185 lbs to 135lbs. I kept it off for two years and then got pregnant with my third. My doctor asked me to visit a nutritionist in order to "eat right". Well lo and behold I took all the weight back...ugh.

Right now I'm a size 14, my weight I have no clue. The last time I was a little bit a slave to the scale, so this time I've decided not to use the scale. Unfortunately it makes OWL a little difficult, because you need to watch your weight. So that would be my first question to all of you...SHOULD I WEIGH MYSELF????

Apart from that I have three darling kids, 5,4 and 16 months. I'm determined and after my first two weeks I FEEL GREAT! Not to mention my hair is incredibly soft right now (does that happen to anyone else on Atkins?).

I'll be visiting all the boards and when I get enough courage to post a pic, I will.

                      Re: Hello everyone!

Hiya Kblais and welcome to you too! Glad to hear you're feeling good on Atkins!

I suggest you copy and paste your post to a new thread in this forum. That way you'll get more responses to your queries than you would in someone else's thread.

As to your "weigh or no weigh" question... I'd say you don't have to weigh to do OWL. Just notice how your clothes fit and/or take measurements. The tape measure is a far more reliable guage of weight loss than the scales.

                      Happy losing!
