  • Wish me luck

I just want to say hello to everyone.
The people on here are so positive and helpful. Really amazing people here!

I want to try Atkins because other diets just make me feel starving. I just want to lose a few inches and some cellulite.

I started Atkins last week for the first time and quit due to nausea.
I didn't know that nausea is not uncommon during induction. Now I know so I am starting again today.

I want to set a goal to aim for.
I have decided not to use a scale. I don't have a scale.
I am going to take a picture and use a measuring tape.
I am going to judge my success by how I look.
My goal is to lose 1-2 inches of fat(hopefully not muscle) from my upper arms, upper thighs and love handles. It could be more depending on how I look after losing some fat.

I am nervous to experience the nausea again but excited to try to reach my goal.

Thank you so much to those who have helped me in the past week. You are all very inspiring!

You will get enough good food that you won't be losing any of that good muscle. I hope you are able to find the food that you need, I heard you had trouble getting somethings where you live. On like the third day, you probably will feel bad. I felt horrible! But once you get past day 5, you should be just fine! Good luck!

      Dear Porcelain,
Thank you for the encouraging words. I am going to start some light exercise so that should help keep the muscle also. I am worried about water loss too so I am going to drink lots and lots of water. I love water so that's not a problem. I am going to take a multivitamin.
Congradulations on losing over 50 pounds! You look wonderful.
      Take care.

I just tooks some before pics and my measurements in the areas I want to change.

          Thanks again.

I actually had a bad experience at an exercise site before.

This site is much much more welcoming for people of all shapes and sizes.

Without seeing my picture and just knowing my weight they said I was anorexic.
I said no explaining that I typically eat about 2500 calories and that if I don't lose the extra flab it's not a big deal to me.
A few peole told me I need professional help. So I quit the site.

                  Dear Jammie,
Thank you for the welcoming. You are so pretty. Keep up the good work.

It looks like your really into exercise from your challenges. I am a runner, but due to induction flu I actually took a few days off last week. I'm doing some light running and yoga this week to try to keep the muscle I have. I can go back to my usual running after I get through the nausea(if it comes).
If I lose the flab I am gonna do some weights to actually build more muscle(and actually gain muscle weight) and also for good bones.

Water is my friend this week.

I took the before pics on my digital camera. The thing is I am terrible with computers so I got to figure out how to do it. Hmmmmm.
                  Take care.

                            Re: Wish me luck

                            Thanks!
I am on Day 3. I woke up kind of shakey and I had a fever. Have you ever heard of these symptoms? Maybe I going through withdrawl. I really don't mind these symptoms at all, much better than nausea.
After breakfast I am feeling a lot better. No nausea yet. Very happy about that! I am going to drink as much water as I can.
Last night I was invited out for dinner with my running team. I was really worried, but thank god they decided to order Korean barbeque which is just beef or pork barbequed and wrapped in lettuce. They use oil and salt to dip the meat in. They also had some raw brocolli and mushrooms. It was perfect.
I found out I have a race in 5 weeks. If I know I have a race I usually train harder so that is good news. Exercise has always helped with my digestion.
I just realized some of the meat soups here in korea could be low carb. They seem to use mostly soysauce and sesame oil for soup broths. I am going to wait till a different stage to try them though. Eating out is really cheap here. Once a day would be nice. Food always tastes better when I don't cook it.
                            Good luck to everyone else.

                              Dehydrated?

After eating breakfast I felt better, but then a while later I felt a little nauseated. So I just rested for a bit and then it went away. Then I went for a run. I felt terrible during the first half but felt a little better near the end.
Now after my run I don't feel too bad.
I did notice my pee today is bright yellow which is some thing that almost never happens due to the fact that I always drink alot of water.
And like I said I have been drinking extra water since Monday. I mean how much water is neccessary!!
Is the dehydration effect just temporary? I really hope so because I don't think that is healthy.
So I really think I am going into Ketosis(or whatever you call it).
All in all this 3rd day induction is much better than last weeks induction 3rd day.
I am going to work on my painting.
I think I need to start a journal.
