Hello everyone! I'm Stephanie, a 19 year old college student from Michigan. The last three months I have been very depressed, binge eating fast food and hiding in my apartment... so my friend Brittany and I decided to do something about it. I am 5'11 and my start weight was 207. I started the Atkins program exactly 7 days ago! So far it's been great! I've already lost 5 lbs! I am surprised at how I haven't been having near as many cravings as last time I was on it (I gave in to sweets, even though I am much more of a salty food fan - BUT not anymore!) I think the reason is because I have support this time. That's why I turned to this message board. I figure the more support the better, so I hope you guys don't mind putting up with me for awhile! My goal is to lose 37 lbs by my birthday, June 9th. So that's about 2.5 lbs a week. I'm also going to try to start exercising 4x a week. I really like what I see so far on here, and I'm excited to talk to all of you! Thanks for reading

Re: Heeeere it goes!
Welcome Steph! I hope you reach your goal in time! Be sure and take some pics of yourself (I do mine in my underwear for reference) and be sure and measure. Sometimes that scale won't show changes, especially if you are starting to exercise. Please don't be discouraged if you don't lose as fast as you want to, you will be getting in better shape and looking better! I want to meet my goal by my birthday in August and I need to lose between 2.5 to 3 pounds a week. Oh, I hope I don't sound like you can't do it! I just don't want you to be discouraged and give up! You are young, anything is possible!
I've decided I probably shouldn't post to people after I take my sleep medicine becuase I don't make a lot of sense. lol
I merely mean "Welcome, Steph. I am glad you are here."

Re: Heeeere it goes!
Hi Steph and welcome!!! I agree with Porcelain... don't focus on the actual number - instead try focusing on your measurements.. People will notice the inches coming off faster than the actual number of pounds you lose. This is a GREAT site for feedback, encouragment and sage advice! Make sure to post often and ask questions and just as importantly get involved in some of the challenges... The people with the greatest success stories didn't get there without exercising
