Hi Karen. Glad to have you join us. You sound committed, so that is over half the battle. The best advice I have is to make a written out plan to make it happen. Plan your foods, your exercise, your water and your supplements. Thinking positive thoughts will cause you to do positive actions and that will lead to positive results. It wasn't until I got real and worked on my attitude towards changing my life-style that I realized I had the power to succeed. You do too. Don't look back at any past attempts, don't judge yourself by other's achievements and don't let anyone or anything stop you. Read the book and follow Dr. Atkins' advice. We're all here for you. Join challenges, read and educate yourself and it will happen. Best wishes!

Warm welcome aboard Karen! Nice to have you here with us at ADBB.

Becky gave you great advice... especially about reading the book (Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution - 2002 edition).

A 20 lb loss by June 1st is certainly doable... but it really depends on so many factors: metabolism, current weight, level of activity, gender, medical issues.... Everyone is different.
My tip would be that you try to think direction rather than speed. Once you get to goal and maintenance, it'll seem as though the 'losing' phase really passed in a flash.

      Happy Atkineering!
