  • Hi Everyone-Today I begin Induction.....

    Hi Everyone....

I'm very excited about my decision to begin Induction....I have high bp, and pre diabetic and presently weigh 202 lbs. .....so I really don't have a problem with starting a new program that so many have had great success with....I need some clarity on some issues...such as what is an appropriate snack between meals during induction? and with the cheeses....is Kraft Cream Cheese spread OK? I read on the nutrition label that it is made with whey..so what cream cheese spread other than Kraft may be whey free?

Also I noticed how everyone at the footer of their emails have weight stats...could some one explain the meaning of those stats so I can apply them in my signature? Thanks so much and good luck to me and to all of you!!

Congrats on making a great decision!! I can't answer the question about the Kraft cheese, but as far as the stats: I gave my gender, height, age and start date. I also listed these things:
    SW- starting weight
    CW- current weight
    GW- goal weight
You can also add mini goals. I started at 217.5 lbs and my 1st mini goal is 200 lbs. Once you meet a goal, you can post the date met next to it.

You can add whatever you want to share to your signature. It also gives everyone else a quick view of your weightloss journey. I'm sure some of the seasoned Atkineers can give you even more info.

    Happy Losing!

    Re-Start Date: 03/27/08, SW- 219 lbs/CW- 212lbs/GW- 130 lbs

      Hello! *waving* Welcome aboard.
I have no idea what kraft cheese spread is, but your cheese should be full fat and have no more than 1 carb per ounce serving.
Snacks can be anything from the acceptable foods list. Just keep track of your total carb and vegetable consumption during the day, as a good portion of your carbs should come from veggies.

        Hello there and welcome!

Induction legal snacks? Ummm.... olives, cheese, celery, pepper, avocado, hard boiled eggs, cold cuts...

Not sure about an alternative to the Kraft cheese spread. Things are a little different where I am, including ingredients. Remember to stick to the daily cheese allowance... it's easy to go overboard with cheese, it's so yummy and filling.

Post lots and share your journey! We're all in this together.

Oh! I know those. i love the chive one too!! I think it's ok. They pump air into it to make it spreadable so you pay a fortune per ounc, but yeah, you're right, it tastes great. I used to eat it with pork rinds before i became more budget concious(read:we got broke )

Good Luck. I have found so much info online. I'm only on day 3, but I'm not hungry, and I'm determined to at least do a cheat-free induction. I figure if I can do that for 2 weeks, I'll be so happy with the results that it will motivate me to keep it up. Plus, I've got a LOT of weight to lose, so seeing other people's sucess is really helpful too. Who would have thought that me, (popcorn & butter at night) would be satisfied snacking on raw broccoli with ranch dressing mixed with parmesan cheese!?
