I'm on day 3 of induction and I'm so excited. I was determined to do a "clean & legal" induction, based upon information that I got from this site. Everyone stressed the importance of being hyper-diligent during these first 2 weeks, so I listened. The different threads with recipes and hidden carbs have really educated me. (OMG, Mock Danish is to die for. I added flaxseed to give it more texture!)

Thanks to all the people who take the time to share their success. I really appreciate being able to get all my questions answered in one place. So far, I'm not at all hungry, I'm already in moderate Ketosis, I started at 324, and I'm now already at 318. I'm trying to tell myself it can't be true, and it's only water, but I actually weighed myself 3 times, because I couldn't believe my eyes!!! I'm going to keep using the ADBB as a resource and share my success. This time, I'm playin' for keeps!!

Welcome! Yes, a lot of it is water, but it's water your body doesn't need anymore to process all those carbs. You flushed out a bunch of fat cells, too, and that will continue after the bloat caused by carbs is gone. I can see great things in your future! You are doing things right.

Those images are by ANNIE LEE. She does everything: paintings, figurines, etc. I have about 12 of her paintings and I plan to start collecting the figurines. They're really funny.

            Clean Induction Sabotoged?

I was SO exited on my first 3 days of induction. I was determined to be by the book. I've got LOTS of weight to lose (~150 pounds). Now on day 4, I decided to track my progress on www.fitday.com. As I started entering my foods, I started to gasp! I can't believe how wrong my estimates have been. Main culprits?

Broccoli, Kale, Salad Dressing (Portion sizes of veggies were bad)
            Sugar-free cough drops (I have a terrible cough, and I teach 4 choirs/week).
            Even Splenda!!

Day 1=27 net carbs, Day 2=33 nc, Day 3=24 nc

The good news, I'm still in moderate ketosis since day 3. I'm eating WAY less carbs and calories than I was pre-induction, I still believe in the Atkins way, and I've even managed to lose a few pounds.

The bad news, starting out with a bad cold has made my "induction flu" even worse, (pounding headache, achy muscles), so I still need to use the sugar-free cough drops for my raw throat.

So I guess now I have to consider myself on day 1 all over again?
