  • Hello, very excited to be here

    Hello everyone,
Newbie here from Baltimore. I'm Kimberly and had actually thought I was on Induction for the past three weeks. However, after doing much browsing, I realize I most certainly was not. I am restarting today on a "true induction" and am very excited. I have come here for info. and support and hopefully to make friends since my friends and family and even hubby think I am crazy for doing Atkins. I have tried everything to lose weight, and nothing works. Hopefully, this will.

Welcome to ha :wave :wave I know that you will find LOTS of support around here. My hubby was very skeptical at first but after week 1 he joined me. Hope to see you around!!

      Hi Sharni,
thanks for replying. The funny thing about my hubby, he is very skinny and never has to work at it. He eats whatever he wants (usually fast food), and is 5'11 and 155 lbs. Makes me sick. I weigh more than him! Of course I did have a baby last year, and that might count. So, I decided I am sick of being miserable and tired all the time. I will do whatever it takes.

                Welcome Ravenfan

Glad you found out what true induction is and made the plan to do it right. Induction will definitely help you get rid of cravings and start your body to burn fat.

The people here are great for giving you support and motivation as you get healthy and learn this new WOE. Keep us posted on your progress. Best wishes.

Thank you all so much for your warm welcome. I find my new WOE not too hard. My biggest problem is the sweets of course. I am a chocoholic, and am having a very hard time with that. But, those bites of chocolate are not worth me being fat anymore. I want to look and feel good again, and I will. My first mini-goal is to lose 30 lbs. by May 10th, my 30th birthday. Does anyone think that is ok, or a bit too much?

Your enthusiasm is great. Its good to set a goal and strive towards it, however, instead of putting a number on it...such as 30 pounds, it is better for me when I strive for a smaller size regardless of the pounds lost it takes to get there.

The scale has always played tricks on me -- which at times discourages me. I'd never cheat and gain a few pounds - which would frustrate me at first. Now I know that it is just water weight and that the inches come off regardless of what the scale says.

Each of us lose at different speeds during our weight loss. Regardless of how much you lose by your birthday, you will definitely look & feel 100% better. Best wishes!!

Thanks so much for the encouragement, dreamof. Your right, I should take smaller steps. I am currently a 14, so I will try for a 12, but hopefully a 10. Anything is better than what i am now. BTW, you look fantastic. Your transformation is amazing.
