:icondance I've been in this forum for about a week. I'm 33, 5'1'"and my starting weight was 229lbs....a weeks and a day after starting I am at 220lbs :joy . I've been overweight since I had my first child at 16. Gone up to 250 and down to about 160. It's been so frustraing because I have (for the most part) always followed low fat, lots of fruits and veggies and whole grains and only suceed in packing on more pounds. typically I was consuming 1800-2000cals a day. 1200-1500 on my got no where diets.
Two years ago this july I weighed 175lbs and I started taking the birth control shot and it seems for every shot I gained about 12lbs without changing my diet. My last shot was in Oct. So hopefully getting this out of my system will help.
I have just gotten to the point where I am so uncomfortable in my own skin I have to try something new. My first goal is sticking with it for the two weeks...I think I will accomplish this okay...The next goal will be to stay on induction at least until may 2...I'm getting married 30 april. I really hope I can get to 200lbs by then. but i figure that after that date I can reassess where I'm at. and go from there.
I have two children 16 & 13 that I have raised on my own. And for the first time in my life things are going right, I'm on the path to where I want to go and my weight is about the only thing holding me back.
My dream is to have my own dogsled team when we retire to Newfoundland in a few years
Anyway I love reading all your stories and comments.
