I have to ask myself, 'Is this it?' Is this the last time I start a weight loss plan and finally follow through? I've got to believe that it is.
Today is officially day 3. Day 3 is always the hardest for me. I removed some Easter Candy from my car for the family, and had an episode... my mouth is still salivating because of it. I'm an addict.
I can taste the acetone in my mouth, so I know the ketosis is full on. I'm 30, a full time student, part time restaurant worker, father of one, husband to a great wife.
In 1996, I lost 80 lbs over 2 months by simply walking 4 miles a day and cutting out meats. I kept that weight off for 2 years, until the stress of a hard semester at school pushed me to eating crap and I gained it all back + 100lbs more in a year or better.
I've done atkins in the past, but I don't think I've ever been fully committed to it. I always find some way to cheat.
I'm in school to be a MT, and as such, I'm getting better aqainted with how and why our body chemistries work. Things that spike insulin, what insulin does, etc. Which is what brings me back to the Atkins program.
I'm currently 375lbs. I'm not too sure what the exact number is. I didn't have the opprotunity to weigh before I started the program, nor have I had the opprotunity to weigh lately. I don't have a home scale that will weigh me at my current weight, but I have access to a scale at school, and will use it tomorrow to determine what my weight is.
My goal is to be under 200 lbs. It'd be great if I could be there in months, but I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen. I'd like to be under 300 by July, though. I don't think that's asking too much of my body.
I'm not that active, but vow to exercise daily. As soon as I finish at the computer, I'm going to work out, study and study some more.
I'm glad to see the before and after pics. They are an inspiration.
I hope to be an active or semi-active member of the community here.
