Hi, I am a 30 year old stay at home wife. I have restarted atkins after a four year break.
About five years ago I started atkins and in one year I had lost 70lbs. Well, I gained back 60lbs when my husband came home from a year long deployment and we moved to Germany. I think that I gained all that weight because of moving to Europe. I am what is called a gastrotraveler. I can't seem to stay away from all the different foods, beers and wines whenever I travel. So Germany has offered wonderful tasty schnitzels, pretzels, pasta, pizza, pastry and potato dishes that I never had before. Not to mention the other foods in different countries that I have visited over the past four years.
Well, what started me back on atkins after all that time? Bluntly put, it is the plane ride from Germany to California that I will be taking in about 2 months or so when we move back to the states.
I have been on atkins (this time) for about a week and I have lost 12lbs. so far.
My husband let me know what my big reward is when I get to 130lbs and maintain for a year. While we have been here, we never had the time or the money to take a tour of the British Isles, so he told me that that would be his gift to me for getting healthy. Talk about incentive!!!
Only 122lbs to go!
