  • Just wanted to say hi and wish me well!!

    I am hoping this life style change will be as easy or even a little more easy than low fat diets. I have been reading your posts and looking at pictures and you all are doing so great. I am ready for a change, finally! I think for me that is a huge difference in me not giving up this time. What I mean is I am doing this for myself and no one else. So many times I have started weight loss programs when I was not ready but to please family.

    Is it really easy to live low carb? I have the book and will start reading it after this post.
    I read before that support can make weight loss easier. I hope someday I can offer support to others on this board.

    I am looking forward to starting and will post often and take advantage of all the wisdom that is offered here.

    Hi Niki, nice to meet you. It's good you're doing this for yourself, and no one else. You'll be much more successful that way. Do read the book, especially the first 11 chapters, then read it all as you will find much information you need to know to do this correctly.

    For me personally, it is much easier than low fat.... no cravings, and much more of a feeling of being satisfied, not hungry. If fact, if you stick to the plan you'll be surprised to find yourself having to remember to eat now and again.

    Read the forums to get lots of ideas, recipes and you'll get plenty of support here too. Best of luck.

        Almost done the first 10 chapters, so excited to start. My offical start date is on Monday. I hope to have more of the book done by then. So many family commitments this week end. Hope this is the last Easter where chocolate is my enemy.

          What I know:
          1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
          2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
          3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
          4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.

              We are all glad you are here Niki, you can do this! Best way for success is post often here and read as much as you can. Joining in challenges really helps too and makes things more fun. There are many times I am sure I wouldn't have done my crunches if it weren't for being in a challenge. We are here to help you with your comittment. Welcome to the board.
