Hi everyone,
Day 1 for me and Atkins!
I'm a 51 year old man, tipping the scales at 239 lbs this morning on a 6' frame. I really need to get it down below 200, hopefully around 180, but I'll be happy at 190. It's been a few years since I was at that weight, but I know it's a good one for me, and it's worth working for. I've done Atkins before, and it worked. Unfortunately, I didn't stick with it. As a result, the pounds are back, along with joint pain. So, I've started today towards reaching and maintaining my goals.
This week will be just WOE adjustments to get into induction correctly. This weekend I am going bike shopping so that I can get a nice no/low impact exercise program working.
I had my first success today, on day 1. I stopped to get gas after work, and did my typical thing at the convenience station.... got 2 slices of pepperoni pizza.... then beat myself up over it on the drive home. After I got home, I decided that I wasn't going to do this... so, just peeled the toppings off and had them instead.
I have, and have read the book several times, so I do know how to do this. I just needed to commit to this WOE and get started.
It's nice to see all of the success stories here, and hopefully some day soon I can join in on them.

Richard!

Sometimes you forget how good eggs really are, and how easy they are to prepare! This morning it was scrambled eggs with taco meat and seasoning... yum!
