  • I am new to this game, but it is working!!!

I started my 'approach' back the first weekend of February. I weighed in at 265.2 lbs. At 5' 11" & 35 years old that is what most folks like to call heavy! Now, just 7 weeks (and a couple of days) in with the extended induction, I currently tip the scales at 250.6.

I do not really have a goal weight, as much as I have a goal look. If I am forced to put a number to it, I would guess....210. I have broad shoulders and pretty big legs...so I think I can pull that weight off!!

I would appreciate it folks could kinf of give me the lay of the land here. I am curious most if all what the numbers people keep posting in this format...xxx/xxx/xxx. Also, how often do folks update the bulletin board with info about their loss, or EEEAAAKKK...gain!

I look forward to support, and being able to lend support, if needed!

Welcome meat_man_1972! Congratulations on your weight loss success!

The numbers posted like xxx/xxx/xxx mean starting weight (SW)/current weight (CW)/goal weight (GW). If you don't already have it I would encourage you to get a copy of Dr. Atkins' New Diet Revolution (DANDR) - I believe the 2002 edition is what is referred to on this site. You can borrow it from the library if you don't want to buy it yet. The FAQ on this site is a great place for lots of answers. Also, when you visit some forums there are sticky notes that are the first one or so posts - those are good to read through, too.

I've only been coming to this site for about 6 weeks and if you ask a question you'll get an answer from someone. ADBB is awesome !

    Best of luck to you.

Hey Meatman, welcome to !! Congrats on that 25 lb loss to date. As was stated, if you don't already have the book, please do get it and read though it. I've read it more than once and it is a wealth of information.

As for updating, that is entirely up to you. There are no rules for it. As for me, I usually update it when I weigh, which is almost every day. Others feel differently about the scale. Again, it's your choice.

Best of luck in your journey, read a lot, join a challenge or two and share your success story with everyone here. There are a lot of experts here, and they are happy to help.

Welcome to ADBB!! Congrats on your success thus far...outstanding results. I would reiterate what clogger said about getting the book & reading it. I would also suggest taking your measurements & keep track of the inches you lose.

Looking forward to hearing about your continued success!! Good luck in your journey.
