  • Day 1 of the Atkins Life

Hi everyone! This is my very first day of the Atkins lifestyle. I am very excited (and, honestly, a little apprehensive) about what the next few days and weeks hold in store. I have tried to prepare myself mentally, emotionally, and physically for this adventure! This is but the first step on what I know will be a lifelong journey. It has taken me a long time to come to the understanding that a "diet" by itself just doesn't work (at least for me). This is going to have to be a complete mind change about eating, exercise & activity, actually life in general. I trust, though, that Atkins will be a very powerful tool to get me headed in the right direction. I have read the Atkins book and have enjoyed spending time reading the very encouraging threads and messages of support which so many have posted. I believe that this ongoing support and working together is key to success.

A little about myself. My name is Brian and I am a 39 year old male. I have struggled with weight issues my whole life and have tried countless diets, with marginal or minimal success (with some) and complete failure (with others). I am married and have two wonderful children. My current weight is 351 pounds. I haven't completely settled on a final weight loss goal for myself, as of yet. However, I would love to be at or below 300 by my 40th birthday (which is 6 months away)!! My primary motivation for weight loss is, of course, for better health (and longevity!!!). Also, I want to become more active with my children and family. Currently, I tire easily and just don't have the stamina to do all that I would like to do. I know that weight loss and activity will help to correct that.

Thank you allowing me to introduce myself. I look forward to communicating with you as we all work together to "lose" so we can "win!!!"

    Have a great day!
