    Re: trying atkins again

Hi Tracy, first of all, I would like to congratulate to on sticking to Atkins and not giving up..
I would like to point out to the following: 1.
Have you read the book? are you eating the right types of food? are you checking the foob labels for carbohydrate count?
I started keeping a food journal, and it helped me visualize the things I was eating throughout the day, and calculate the exact amount of carbs each day.
    2. For me, I tend to lose weight when I eat unprocessed food: I mean eating canned meat, veggies, and things like that tends to make me retain fluids, and therefore I don't see good results. I try to eat natural food. Fresh veggies, meats, and I prepare them myself at home. That way, I know exactly what goes into it and how many carbs I am consuming.
    3. If all that fails, I suggest doing some blood work, to make sure you don't have an underlying medical condtion that is sabotaging your weight loss efforts ( hypothyroidism, polycystic ovary disease, and so on.)
    4. Are you premenstrual by any chance? you tend to retain an average of 7 lbs of water during the PM period.. Once you get your periods, you will soon lose all that water weight.

Good luck to you and don't give up..

Sometimes it helps to have other people look through your menu. There is a Review my menu forum here. Post there.

And do hang in there. It really works.

Hi Tracy, Glad to hear that you have started Atkins. Seems like you are doing the basics.

        1-Read the book
        2-Exercise
3-Water (64 oz a day, then 8 oz for each 25 pounds you need to lose, so for you a total of 96 oz. a day-just a guideline).

Have to agree with the suggestion of posting your menu, it can be really helpful. You might want to consider posting a daily Journal in the "Journal Stats" forum, great way to keep track of everything.

Hang in there, you will do great.

        What I know:
        1-Atkins WOE/WOL plan works
2-I need to always work on the behaviors and triggers that make me over eat.
3-Atkins WOL is part of the puzzle, but is not the entire thing.
4-Self-deprecation only feeds our inner ego and not in a good way.
