After months of checking out this site and reading the Atkins books, I have made the decision to live the Atkins way of life. I have struggled with my weight all of my life, and thats all going to change. I was so desperate to lose the weight that i had even went to a bariatric surgeon 2 years ago and went through with the initial process to have gastric bypass. Two weeks before my schedued surgery i chickened out, lol. I realized that the surgery would not really help me that i had to learn to deal with my food issues n my own.Well wih me luck on this incredible and exciting adventure.

Re: Day 1 of induction
Welcome aboard ABRANDNEWME! My EX-doctor strongly suggested that I have bariatric surgery or lap-band as an answer to losing weight and correcting recently diagnosed diabetes 2. Did you notice "EX"? You are 100% ... it is only a 'tool' to have this surgery and not a 'resolution' to lose weight! Good luck, you found a GREAT group of folks and program!

Re: Day 1 of induction
ABRANDNEWME, welcome to ADBB
! It's true, the first few days are the hardest. Just watch your carb intake and if you're hungry *eat*. I felt like I was eating all the time the first few days. Isn't it a relief to know that if you're hungry you get to eat? Keep coming to the board for information, support, and motivation.
Good luck to you!
