    Hello there everyone.
    My name is Danielle, i am 28 years old from the Highlands of Scotland.
    Having tried a lot of diets and found i was starving to death lol and not losing much i have now decided to give Atkin's Diet a go.

    I have to say i am very aprehensive about it incase i get a craving for carbs.
    I have read the book but felt there was not an awful lot of choice in there to eat and felt like i did not want to start,UNTIL I FOUND THIS SITE.

    I am so motivated now, i can't wait to start, i know i can get all the suppost i ever need here and great recipies also.

    I am going to do my homework for the diet now and write down a whole 2 weeks induction menus so i don't fall off diet lol!!!

    Oh, i have at least 14lbs to lose minimum, although if my body will let me i want to try and get down 21lbs,this weight has proved almost immpossible get shifted in the past, only a ppound or so!!

    I am currently 146lbs, does anybody think it is posssible lose weight?

    It has worked for me. Should work for you too. Did you get the book yet? It is a very good source of information and inspiration.
    So when are you starting?

      Hi and welcome to . I just started about a week ago and have lost 8 pounds already. It really does work. What is even better, at least for me, is that before this diet I was always hungry...and now I have to almost force myself to eat everyday...so that I get the correct amount of calories. If you stick to under 20 net Carbs a day and make sure you are eating enough fat (I know that sounds crazy...but it's true) you should not feel hungry after a few days...definitely after the first two weeks...

        I've found the same. This will be day 6 for me and I've lost 5 pounds. My husband also started the same day and he also lost 5.

        Danni: I am about the same as you - I was 151, now 146 and want to be 130. Possibly 125. I used to be 118 until I hit 30, but now realized I must have had some anorexic symptoms back then, although I never did anything crazy to keep weight off either. People would call me tiny and I thought they were crazy. At 118 and 5'4.5, I would look in the mirror and think I was fat.

          I have read the book now i got to pick a day to get started.....i will keep you all posted.
