    Hi my name is Erica and I am new to this board. I am here to get some incouragement with this weight thing. I have tried just about everything there is to lose this weight.

    I tried the atkins back in 2003 it worked very well even when I cheated. I lost about 20 pounds with it. I am going back on it this time without the cheating.

    I have a goal weight of 140 pounds. I am 5 foot 3 inches, I weigh 197 pounds. People dont believe that I weigh this much but I do. People think that I weigh less.

    I need all the help that I can get thanks in advance for the help. I will post some pictures when I get the courage to do so. I am very shy about my body. I have issues with letting my husband see me naked go figure that.

    I think many of us have those issues with body image. It is hard to love ourselves when those ideal body images are so unnaturally thin.

    So did you use the 2002 Atkins system in 03? It is the one recommended here.

      Welcome! I'm back again as well. Back in 2003 I had success and then gained 70 pounds since. Oops. But, we can do this!
      God does not take you through the valley unless he is leading you to the moutain top

        Welcome back! I'm back myself for the third time! ( starting June 1st ). I bit my lip and posted some pics of myself. Boy, that was hard because I am so embarrassed due to my weight issues. Believe it or not, I hate for my husband to see me naked as well!....lol.....It doesn't bother him a bit, but if we're not happy with ourselfs, we think our spouses think the same way. Hang in there, and WE CAN DO IT THIS TIME!! Then, we can walk naked all we want to in front of our husbands!!!....lol.

          Warm welcome to the ADBB Erica! Nice to have you with us here.

          I love it that you say you've come back to Atkins and this time without the cheating. That's the absolute right way to goal! Kudos to you.

          Remember to have a high fat snack to munch on if/when cravings hit. Being prepared is a huge help.
