    Hi Everybody! I did Atkins 15 years ago and lost 16 lbs so I know it works. Not sure why I never got past those 16lbs, maybe I needed to watch my calories too. I will buy the New Dr Atkins book tonight. What is the difference from his original one? If it's net carbs I never did understand and won't even try! I'm starting today. I need to be accountable to this group or somebody!! I'm looking for a buddy. I'm trying to put my weight ticker, but don't know how. Been to the profile page.......no success.

    Hey Gladys welcome.
    I don't know that much about the old Atkins but as I understand it the 2002 version is very different. Especially the first part of it. I guess you will find out when you read DANDR.

    To have a signature you need to enter under UserCP then use the Edit Signature Tab to the left and enter the stuff you want there.

        Welcome. This board is based on the 2002 Edition of Dr. A's book. It was the last edition that HE actually wrote. The newer book has a whole bunch of stuff in it that doesn't adhere to what Dr. A. actually wrote about. The company is more about selling the bars, shakes, etc. than your health and well being.

        On ADBB we follow the 2002 edition. That is where the expertise will come from the veterans. I suggest you get the 2002 edition because it is the TRUE Atkins book not the new one which was changed after he passed away.
