    Hi everyone.
    I am a 45 year old female. After reading the book, I am encouraged by the science behind this diet and would like to give it a try. I think what got me into my weight gain mess is beer. There is nothing like a cold one after working in the garden or mowing the lawn on a warm summer afternoon.
    For those of you who got your sweet tooth / carb cravings met through beer or wine, how did you get through induction and on to OWL and avoid those cravings?

    Welcome!

    Trust me, after the weight starts falling off, you won't be missing the added calories, hops, and barley

    You just have to get through the cravings, in my opinion...it's not easy, but if you're feeding the craving with something else, it's kind of like putting a small branch across the dam, it just doesn't work that great. Drink water, exercise, and best wishes!

      Thanks Lisa.
      After reading through other forums, it appears that once you've worked through the induction, the body goes through many chemistry changes. I've read others who have sweet tooths curbed just through what you've described.
      Yep, lots of water and exercise.

          Hello,

          I just wanted to comment about the beer cravings. I have been a true beer lover.
          I would have one to two a day. After working through the first week of induction.
          You will find that you will no longer crave them. I have not missed them at all.
          I was also a huge sweet addict. I made my family a carrot cake with cream cheese
          icing for a 4th cookout. I had to look at it all weekend. I did not even desire a piece of it. I was amazed. I kept waiting for the over powering desire to binge. It never happened. The biggest thing that I have missed is bread. I made
          the Revoluntionary Rolls this weekend and added a scoop of protein powder. Within them you can make yourself breakfast sandwich or maybe tuna sandwich for lunch. Follow the instructions carefully and let them get good and brown.

            I havent put that poison in me body for over 2 1/2 years. And I dont miss it either. If I can quit so can you. Stay focused and strong and you'll do fine. God Bless, Joe
