  • First timer, day one of induction! WOOT!

Could this be THE last diet for me? Gosh, I really hope so. I am sure I'm not the only one who has tried them all before with limited success. Anyway, my name is Lacey and I am 30 and a stay at home mom of 2 from Oregon. I went to the doctor yesterday and was shocked to learn I let myself reach 305 pounds *ashamed sigh* Definite wake up call time for me! I had been planning on trying Atkins after my friend lost 15 pounds in her 2 week induction. No time like the present, right?

Today was my first day of induction and it went surprisingly easily. I wasn't hungry even once and clocked in at 18 carbs for the day. I did make the mistake of using balsamic vinegar on my lunch time salad though, boo. That mistake will help remind me that I must read the label on everything and not just assume it is 0 carbs.

I am thrilled I found this place and know I will need the support and experience of those of you who have been doing this a while.

Welcome, I know you will do great! I just ended my Induction and lost 3.5 lbs the first week and 2 lbs. the second. This may not seem like much if you compare to others, however, I am very proud of it! Just remember not to compare your weightloss with your friends and get discouraged if you don't have the same results. Good luck with Induction, I can't wait to see your results!

Thank you and congrats on your initial success! I definitely wont be comparing myself to anyone, I just want to follow the plan and see what happens. So far I am really liking it and haven't felt even the faintest trace of hunger so that is great for me! In fact, today is day 3 and I feel different! I don't know if I am now in ketosis or not but I do have a very metallic taste in my mouth and my appetite is pretty low so I think that I may just be! Thanks for the support, I really appreciate it! Good luck to you as well!

Good Luck LaceyLoo! I am starting new and hoping to make this a lifestyle change. The forum looks like the most supportive group of people and I'm excited about it.
