  • Hi there!

Thought I would introduce myself after a few days of lurking here and finally registering

My name is Clara and I have always been overweight for as long as I can remember, even in high school while I was a very active varsity tennis player(talk about awkward). I've been married for 13 years to a wonderful man who loves me for me. We have 3 wonderful kids! Sadly I am not home often because I work long hours, I start at 3pm and don't finish until about 3 or 4 am We are working on changing this though..hehe.

I am not new to atkins, I was on atkins years ago and had great results! However, I started to get dizzy and lightheaded alot so per the advice of my doctor I stopped atkins (wish I hadn't) and also started to eliminate certain meds I was on. Come to find out, it wasn't the atkins, but the depo shot that was causing the side effects! So here I am again, ready to do this again and make this my WOL! So Monday 6/9/08 was my start date and I am so excited! My hubby and kids are great in supporting me with this, although there is still tempation, I have done great so far!

That's me in a nutshell. Look forward to hearing from people

    Re: Hi there!

    Hi, Clara

    Welcome to ADBB!

Glad to hear that you are back on the Atkins wagon and doing well. I, too, strayed from plan after some success and had to come back and re-lose 32 of the 60 pounds I had lost. The good new is, I was able to re-lose that 32 pounds plus 30 more.

It CAN be done! It's great that you have found this board... there is such a wealth of information, motivation, and support here. Take your time and explore the board - there's something for everyone. Good luck!

depo is the worst thing that has ever happened to me, I can't describe to you the amount of side effects I've encountered, including but CERTAINLY not limited to a 3.5 going on 4 month period.

I hope you don't take it anymore!!!!!!! I certainly will not continue, it should be taken off the market!

good luck on your journey, look forward to future posts!

        Thanks for the welcomes

No, I don't take depo anymore. I had the same problem with the 3-4 month periods >< I was not happy! I've since had my tubes tied as we are very content with our family being the size it is, and with our oldest having ADHD and ASperger's, we have our hands full! lol

          Re: Hi there!

Well I am glad you are here and welcome! Depo has done bad things to many people, so be careful! With 3 kids I am sure you may not want more, but if you do wohoo! Definetly talk with your doc about other options. There is SO much out there now. Do what is right for you, which by joining the board, you know how to do!

Good luck and I am here if you ever wanna talk!
