  • De-lurking to say hello

:wave Hi, I thought it was time to de-lurk and introduce myself. I found this board a few months ago and have gotten a lot from it so far. I think I'll get even more if I start participating, so here I am.

A little about me. I'm 42 (43 Monday), married, 2 boys (ages 5 and 2). I work full time in the litigation field as a computer geek. We live in the midwest, although I am from the south so I complain about the cold a lot.

DH and I first tried Atkins about 3 years ago. We both needed to lose weight and my dr suggested that low carbing might help me get pg. Obviously, it did. I lost 26 lbs (dh lost 36) and gained a baby boy. We restarted Atkins Jan 1 2005 and it hasn't been easy this time around. I've managed to lose just 2 lbs. It has been frustrating in the extreme. But, I have lost that middle of the day slump so that's something. Right now I'm focusing on that 2 lbs as a victory and trying to see where else I can improve. I use fitday, but not religiously, so it isn't helping very much. I'm pretty sure there are some carbs I'm not seeing, perhaps in the way things are prepared. I know I am not exercising nearly enough or hard enough. I'm hoping that by interacting with others who are doing atkins I will have to be more aware of what I am eating and step up the exercise.

    Enough rambling. Hello.

Hi 2soft :wave Welcome to ha
I'm so happy you delurked yourself.
Try posting your Menu's in the 'Revue my menu' section. Could be hidden carbs there. And you are so right about exercise. Not only is it non-negotiable, but essential to weight loss with Atkins. Drinking that water is of utmost importance too. I wish you all the best.
