    Hi there all,
    I am Val, I live in MN, mom of 4, and nursing student, doing some online classes this summer too. I had a 28 week preemie on 9-11, after 3 months of bedrest, he is doing great 9 months later, although it was an ordeal to get him here! I actually lost my baby wt quickly, as the daily walk through the hospital for 9 weeks helped greatly! But then after we came home, I had to stay home with him all through the winter and into the spring so he wouldn't get RSV, needless to say, I put 25 back on. Went from an almost 12 again to a 16, and am miserable!!! I should really be 150, and a size 10, realistically. So I started yesterday, and amazingly enough, I already lost 2 pounds!! I have tried this diet in the past and only lasted a week or so, I had trouble getting past the icky, sugar deprived feelings. But I really believe I am in it for the long haul now!

    My bf was wondering why I made him a different dinner than myself last night, and is now starting the plan today, he is so sick of sandwiches in his lunch anyway! So it is good to have support here and at home. Gotta hit the grocery store soon though! Anyway, I am glad to be here, I plan to get married when I graduate in 2 years, and am dreading looking like a whale in the white uniforms I have to wear in mid August for school, so here I am!

    congratulations and keep up the good work it might be hard but the results r fabulous!!!!!!!!!!! is it possible to do online classes for the first time?

        well, i have a 2 year AA degreed already, and have 2 more yrs of nursing classes, trying to get the Anay Phys outta the way online, yep, it's available, and I am ion it full force! Stressful! I am glad to have a solid plan to follow, diet-wise so I can stay on track, its pretty cut and dry, that's what I like! Does anyone know if dill pickles are ok in induction? I figure they should be, since cukes are ok....

          Congratulations on getting started and having support from your bf. That makes the trials and food temptations much easier to deal with. Glad you are here, and if you need anything, just ask.

              You can do it and you will feel so much better. My hubby does this with me too, and makes all the differance having your partners support !!!
              You have some pretty exciting things coming up so I wish you the best and look forward to seeing you on the board !!

                Thanks! I just got back from grocery shopping, I am still wondering if dill pickles are ok, I think they should be... Anyone? And I read somewhere on here that Diet Rite is ok, thank goodness! It is actually pretty good stuff!!

                  I eat dill pickles, but I haven't tried the Diet Rite yet.

                    Welcome aboard Valerie...
                    I'm sure if you punch in the search for induction food list ...I've never tired that here but I know on the web search if you put it in, it will get you the list and even a two week menu..that works out pretty good.I ate dill pickles and it didn't hurt me but I don't know for sure my jar said 1 carb so that was good enough for me.... as for diet rite do you mean soda? I don't drink soda except for an occasional capt. and coke then it's diet caffeine free lol.
                    good luck to you....join a challenge when your ready..with 4 kids and school I'm sure your schedule is already full..Theres alot of great people here...with alot of great advice..

                      Hey, thanks! I will have to check the challenges out. Yes, Diet Rite is soda, or "pop" as we call it in MN! LOL! I read in a diff section her ethat it was an ok drink, because it is made with sucralose. It is also 0 calories, 0 carbs, 0 caffeine, and 0 sodium.
