  • This cowgirl loves Atkins

    Hello everyone
My name is Nancy and I just want to say that Atkins has made a great difference in my life. I am a southern girl from South Carolina where we love our starches, sweet tea, and love the fried foods with grits on the side. I have always struggled with weight since having children 18 years ago.
My dad actually did Atkins back in the late 90's and really made a difference. He has maintained his weight and has stayed true all these years. I was skeptical and refused to believe that Atkins was the way to loose. I heard all the horror side of it where it was bad for you, he died of a heart attack, and you just gain all of it back.
I have been on Atkins since the beginning of May and have already lost a total of 14lb. I am more energized and love cooking now. I am constantly trying new recipes. I have had a few set backs but all-n-all I have really done well and will continue to do so. I was one of the few people that had resistance and had to go to extreme, " fat fast" which really helped me before I went in to the induction phase. My body just does not want to let go of its fat. I now know I can do it. I have a great support system at home and it is wonderful. I look forward to continue with Atkins and with the help of all the Atkins doers I know I can succeed...I hope my loosing and keeping fit will encourage my daughter who struggles with weight.

Starting weight was 157 and now I weigh 143…My goal is 130 and maybe 125. I am 5.3 in height.

I am having trouble. It seems there are times in the month that are really hard for me. How do you over come the desire for cravings at this time.
