I've been hanging out at this site for a few days now but finally, finally my account has been activated and I can now participate! Hooray!
A little background on me, 29 year old female from Sin City. Wife and mommy to a 9 yo girl and 4yo boy....and an adorable pooch. I was at my HW (aside from pregnancy) when I started induction on June 18 (0
at 163.5 lbs and 5,1". I have a tendency to yo-yo and I need a lifestyle change....a new way of eating forever.
I did Jenny in 2001 and it didn't work until they put me on a low-carb program and since then I've always known that low-carb was what works for me. I know some people can calorie cut....and sometimes it seems easier but in March a trainer at my gym devised this strenuous exercise routine plus calorie cut diet that incorporated serious carbs...although I contested, he insisted it would work. I was working my behind off and I gained 8 lbs...no not muscle weight, fat weight because my pants were no longer fitting me. I had maintained my weight prior to this by not going overboard on carbs and the huge increase as suggested by the trainer made me gain, regardless of my working out....
So, I got depressed and sat in bed eating chips and chocolate for a couple months and gained 15 pounds....
Realization occured when I was walking to the fridge one day and saw how beautiful it was out the window and my kids had been watching Sponge Bob for the 14th day in a row on their summer vacation....and I had been feeling to fat, too tired and too depressed to get them outside and enjoying life....they were suffering cuz I was....
And so now here I am....sorry for the novel, I thought this intro would be short...I guess I had to get some weight off my chest (no pun intended
)
This looks like a great place to stay....and so I will
Day #3 of Induction and still going strong......
